Pam PattonI have been sewing since I was 6 years old. My first real project was a reversible wrap skirt. In my early sewing life, I did garment construction and won several awards in the garment category for Camp Fire Girls at the Ohio State Fair. In college I majored in fashion design with a minor in business. After graduation from the Ohio State University, I moved to Dallas, where I worked in corporate offices for both County Seat Stores and JCPenney. During that time my sewing focus shifted to quilting, fiber arts, and bags. Sewing is very therapeutic for me. I love scrappy quilts, zippy bags, decorative machine stitches and making things from scraps that others see no value in. My favorite quilt block is Ohio Star. I also dabble in machine embroidery. I sew on a Bernina 780 which I call Sassy. I also own a Bernina 125 and a Bernina Serger 1150MDA. I started working at Quilt Mercantile in June of 2019. Before QM, I worked and taught classes at Best of Bernina in Plano. I belong to the Frisco Quilt Guild and teach workshops for them on occasion as well. I live in Farmersville and have a small apiary of 14 bee hives on my property there.
