Make and Take an apron and a placemat September 4th.  Your long arm can be used for many fun projects other than quilting a top!  These two projects give you hands on with several techniques.
Project 1: In this project class you’ll learn techniques that will be skill builders for other creative projects. This apron has 5 pockets with one of them being a zippered pocket for a wallet or cellphone. It also has a center pocket that is the perfect size for your cheater readers or a rotary cutter. We love this apron because it has a place for everything.
• Attaching ribbon • Attaching binding • Attaching perfect zipper.
Project 2:  Placemats make great presents.  These techniques can be used when making a quilt top on a larger scale.
• Slapplique • Reverse applique • Piecing on the longarm • Echo quilting • Free motion • Using Pro-Stitcher to do fill work • Binding • Attaching a pocket to your project.

Background Fills by Jackie Brown September 5th.  This is a free motion quilting class.  No Pro Stitcher.  Background fills will make any quilt pop. You can be as creative as you want by using more than one fill or keep it simple. Just have fun! There are so many different types of fills or you can make up your own. You will be using precision, cruse and manual.

Embroidery/Applique on the Longarm September 9th – Why use a longarm for embroidery and applique? Maybe you do not own an embroidery machine…do not let that stop you!  If you have ever wanted to stitch a design larger than your embroidery hoop, this session is for you.  The design we use in class was initially digitized to accommodate a maximum dimension of six inches.  Once you learn how to make a machine embroidery design Pro-Stitcher ready, you are only limited by your frame space. I started with a small quilt of nine blank 10” blocks and finished with a stylish wall hanging. By the end of class, you'll create an embroidered and appliqued 12" pillow cover to take home, and you can use this technique for many other projects.  We will piece the pillow top as well as attach the pillow backing…no sewing machine required!!
The file we will use is from Oregon Patchworks at www.oregonpatchworks.com/embroidery/index...search for Applique Doodle Flowers...choose the 6x6 size and your preferred format. If you do not have a preferred format, choose PES. We will create a pillow cover entirely on the longarm including the backing.  Pro-Stitcher® Designer and the Pro-Stitcher® Simulator on a laptop or your Pro-Stitcher® tablet are required for this class.

Piecing on the Longarm AM September 10th – Are you tired of always quilting the same old thing…flat, square or rectangle quilts and wall-hangings?  If you have ever wondered why you need or when you would actually use all the different Handi Feet? Then, this class is for you!  We will create an entire pillow top, similar to the one in the photo (including the backing), and use every foot in our arsenal!  You’ll get to try all the feet and see how to use them and why you would want them in your collection. NO SEWING MACHINE NEEDED!!  Join Edie and step outside the box and create this unique, 3-D, 12” Lone Star Pillow top.  Here are some things you learn during this session…

" How to piece the entire pillow top on the longarm

" How to use stencils

" How to use couching to add dimension and flair

" About micro quilting

" How to attach the back of the pillow

" About echoing to add interest, and more…

" You also get to “test drive” each available foot and see for yourself why you need them in your toolbox.

Commercial options for decorator pillows can be expensive, and it may be difficult to find a design that meets specific preferences.

Elevate Your Wardrobe PM Sept. 10th– Do you have a boring pair of jeans and would like to transform into a statement piece? Bring those jeans to class and I’ll show you how to successfully update them. Before class, please open the inside seam of the leg you wish to embellish.  Just think of the possibilities…jean jackets…zip-up hoodies…blouses or jean shirts!

Real World Quilting Class Sept. 11th—This class is basic pro stitcher class.  Do you own a long arm but you just don't have confidence in edge to edge quilting.  Use this opportunity to quilt a small top and experience all the bumps in the road of the real world!   Beginner friendly.

We hope you can join us for a class!  Reply to this email with any questions.  In "bulk email" like this I cannot add links but when you reply I can send you a link where you can see pictures and more information on each class.
