       Quilt Mercantile
Open House Tomorrow
two $100 gift certificates given away Wednesday night

We are back in our store from a quilt show and have just set up for our Handi Quilter Van event that is happening this Wednesday – Saturday.  We always have the product in our store but we have some special things happening.  We have a “Van Event” so we have seven Handi Quilter Amara machines with the Pro-Stitcher set up in our store right now!!! In our classroom we also have our Infinity, Simply Sixteen with the new "little buddy" installed, and two Sweet Sixteens with Tru Stitch. We have a national educator that will arrive tomorrow afternoon to educate quilters from all across Texas and so far one from Oklahoma.  For tomorrow night’s open house—Meet Mary Fisher, we will have an evening of “find the potential” of using a long arm machine.  There will be six different station that show off just a sampling of ideas because the possibilities are so many with these machines.  One station is going to show how to piece on the frame using the Simply Sixteen station, two stations will show how to do couching on the long arm--edge to edge or custom work, one station will show thread play and how to use numerous types of thread on these long arm machines, our Infinity station will show how to quilt using a panograph, and she will show how to use stencils to give a reference point for quilting on the sweet sixteen sit-down machine.  We will have a sign-up sheet during open house for individuals that are interested in being a part of a Pro-Stitcher Mastery program in our store that has a class once a quarter and is led by Mary Fisher.

In addition to this open house we have classes that start with long arm basics adventure on Thursday more info .  So many things help you with tension and numerous fundamentals--don't miss how to make your quilting life more successful.  On Friday we walk a little on the wild side with our a.m. class and our afternoon class. These take you outside your comfort zone...Mary promises to make it fun!  All of these classes for Thursday and Friday will benefit any long arm quilter--not brand specific.  Saturday we jump completely out of the box and into a computer program.  Pro-Stitcher is the most user friendly long arm quilting program on the market today.  If you own a Handi Quilter machine and have any interest in this system---this is the perfect time to test the waters.  Two more spots open---don't miss it!

Additional education is available on Thursday and Friday nights this week from 6-8 with Jackie Brown.  Classes are $45 each.  Thursday's class will be hands on with the Wave D ruler and the Clamshell ruler.  Friday's class will be hands on with the new S shaped ruler designed by Jackie for making beautiful feathers.  Look here.

In our store on Wednesday night we will have a quilt show of our own.  We have over 60 quilts hanging on display on the walls of our store.  We will also have a special exhibit of two award winning quilts (which have traveled all over the United States) by Linda Neal:  Twas the Night Before Christmas which has won-Best of Show Plano 2014, 2nd place AQS Paducah quilt show, International Quilt Festival in Houston 3rd place applique division 2016, 2nd place Quilt Odyssey show…any many more ribbons; One Cake, Two Cake, Red Cake, Blue Cake which has won—3rd place Road to California show, Judges choice(Karen K.
