Spring is here!
We hope you are enjoying the beautiful sunshine, spring rains, and the green grass that shows spring has arrived. Our store will be CLOSED this Saturday for the holiday weekend. We have many new fabric arrivals and several new samples in the store. We plan to post a picture on Facebook with the very beautiful tuffets sent to us by Sylvi Sealy. She is teaching a retreat in July. This piece of furniture is a wonderful extension of your passion for quilts. Below are several of the retreats we have scheduled. We hope you will join a retreat or drive out to see the new fabric arrivals.

Alice Wilhoit A-Z weekend retreat April 15th-18th & July 22nd-24th. This April Retreat with Alice is a Great Deal! (ONLY $135 for three nights and four days! This price includes lodging and teacher fees) Alice is a published author that teaches all over the United States. We are fortunate to have her in our area. Need help to finish or get motivated on one or more of your UFO's? Alice says this retreat is for you! Drag out those unfinished projects! You know, the ones you put away because you were stuck. Sign up for a retreat with Alice and get the help you need to complete those projects. Or just start something new. Alice has over 25 years experience as a teacher. She is an author, pattern designer and is very knowledgeable with appliqué, embroidery and crazy patchwork.
Eileen Urbanek retreat April 11th-14th and/or August 25th-28th. Paper Piecing the Judy Niemeyer way--Eileen Urbanek. Eileen is well loved for her ability to teach skills to help with Judy's complex pattern. She is an international certified instructor for Judy. She also is very happy to help you with any of these quilting projects: Stack-n-Wack, One Block Wonder, Jacob's Ladder, String Quilts, and Wonderful One Fabric Quilts. Join these retreats for any of these projects!
June 2016--P3 Designs applique retreats. We are taking names for a backup list currently. The day class on June 16th will most likely have room for you to join. E-mail us if you are interested.
Brenda Jeschke Embroidery Machine Retreats April 1st-3rd, June 17th-19th, September 23rd-25th & December 2nd-4th. Brenda would love to help you learn confidence with your embroidery machine. We still have some room in the April 1st-3rd retreat. Because this is a smaller group than normal (Spring is SO busy)--Brenda has agreed to work with any of you ladies that would like to improve your hand quilting skills. If you don't own an embroidery machine join the group and work on hand quilting all weekend! Brenda is a very accomplished hand quilter. She has won over ten fine hand quilting awards with quilts she has placed in quilt shows over the past 30 + years. If you want to concentrate on machine embroidery--All machine brands welcome. Beginner to advanced welcome.
Sylvi Sealy TUFFET retreat July 15th-17th!!! The designer of the hottest new project from Houston Quilt Market and Festival 2015, Sharyn Cole, praises Sylvi as "The Best certified instructor in Texas!" We are bringing her to Celeste, TX to teach you to make your own tuffet in a weekend. This is an awesome opportunity to learn from the best! Sylvi helped students make over 550 tuffets last year. When the retreat fills up we may add a day class on Thursday July 14th & Monday July 18th as an option.) In preparing for this retreat offering I have learned that not all tuffet classes are created equal. Sylvi uses only the best quality tuffet kit so your masterpiece will be a useable family heirloom for many years to come. She provides absolutely everything you need to finish your project while you are here...Yeah! (no UFO)
Open retreat weekend August 11th-14th. Open enrollment Quilt Mercantile UFO retreat--join this retreat by yourself or with other friends. Currently we have room for ladies in this retreat. Arrival is Thursday after 3 p.m. for $120 lodging fee. No project--just time to yourself to sew and make new quilting friends! We currently have room for five ladies in this retreat. Please sign-up to be on backup list. Some might change their plans!
