Long Arm Quilting club FIRST Quarter meeting: Saturday April 12th from 9:30-12:30. Cost is $20 per meeting per person. This club's goal to to bring together long arm quilters in our area. Club is open to everyone--any brand long arm on table or sit-down units. Just trying to decide IF you want to be a long arm quilter--join us on club day. We want to educate, share ideas and have fun. Jackie Brown is our lead educator for this club and we plan to bring in some Handi Quilter educators in the future as well. Please bring a notebook and pen to the meeting. At 9:30 we will begin with a Show-n-Tell so bring any project you want to share. Jackie will have a handout for "Set Yourself Up for Success" to begin discussing at 10. Jackie will demonstrate two of her favorite rulers by Handi Quilter: the VersaTool (which has more uses than can be listed easily) and the Wave D template ruler which is used for stems and basic feathers. Want hands on experience? Jackie is offering an afternoon class to work with these two rulers from 1:30-3:30 for $35 per person. You will practice in detail how to use the Wave D Ruler to set the stem for feathers, and how to continue the stem around the corners. Once the stem is set, the feathers can be stitched in a continuous motion. Jackie will also teach the basic feather technique when applying them to the stem. Limited to six students. Sign up now!

Quilt & Connect Machine Quilting class by Lynda Lindstrom Saturday April 26th from 9:30-3 for $35. This is a great way to quilt those larger projects without struggling with the complete quilt top the whole time.
Basic Embroidery Machine class by Brenda Jeschke Thursday May 15th from 10-3 for $45. Brenda will teach you how to use the embroidery part of your machine. Any brand! This class covers using the proper stabilizers, how to hoop properly, discuss needles, threads, and bobbins, machine embroidery formats, printing templates, getting your designs to your machine, downloading designs from the internet, and design organization on your computer. Bring machine and laptop. We are very excited to have this brand new offering. Do you have a embroidery machine you have never used??? Bring it out of the closet and join this class. THEN you can learn more when she comes again for another retreat December 5th-7th! She has some gorgeous samples.

Alice Wilhoit's new classes to instruct how to make her new project: Be the first to make Alice’s new quilt pattern, “Hummingbirds & Friends”! This lovely 80” x 80” quilt will satisfy any bird lover. (Take advantage of having this talented local teacher that travels all over the country to teach!) Alice has brought your favorite birds to life using embroidery needlework details. You spoke and we have listened. It is hard to come twelve months but let Alice show you all the basics in two classes so you will be able to make the project. You’ll learn many traditional embroidery stitches plus many more that Alice has developed. These classes are always fun! Saturday June 21st will be applique day.
