Zentangle Retreat May 31st-June 2nd--Like needle and thread, Zentangle and fabric are meant to marry. You will love the calming process. Zentangle art is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful works by simply drawing patterns within a space. You don’t have to be an artist to create Zentangle art. The complicated patterns are broken down into easy to follow steps. Traditional Zentangle art is done in black and white, but color can be added for a whole different look. Zentangles can increase your focus and creativity.
Students will learn the basic theory behind Zentangles, the benefits and uses and then we will spend a day learning many tangle designs as you each create wonderful small pieces of art. Students will get the opportunity to work on paper and fabric.
Students will also learn how to create a unique Zentangle Inspired Art piece using black and white print fabrics. Students can choose to work on Butterfly Beauty pattern or create their own one of a kind design with my easy step by step instructions.
Michelle will have lots of her own Zentangle art to share with you throughout retreat.
Retreat includes: Five meals, teaching fees, and lodging for $195.
Wheel Of Scraps class June 6th, 9:30-4:30--$40. Let Michelle take the mystery out of piecing beautiful circles with the 9 degree Wedge Ruler. Use all the leftover strips sitting on your shelves to make the wonderful pieced circles. You can use strips in all lengths and widths for this easy to piece quilt. These are BIG blocks. Make one block for a wall hanging or three blocks for a larger quilt. Scrap borders can also be added.
Redwork by Machine class June 7th, 9:30-4:30--$40. Do you love the beautiful look of redwork or bluework? Can't find the time for handwork? This class is for you! All you need is a sewing machine that has a triple stitch. (We were so impressed with this technique at international quilt market this past fall. We purchased some beautiful barn patterns that were done by sewing machine.) Michelle has a wonderful Native Floral Treasures pattern she will teach using this method. Join the class and learn this wonderful method.
