Have an embroidery machine and love to make quilts? Let's combine the two loves of our lives. At this retreat you will learn six different multi-hooping techniques while also learning to machine embroidery applique. You will have the capability to make either the bed runner, the lap size quilt, or the bed size quilt after you have learned these hooping techniques. You will learn how to use your re-positioning tools in your machine and the plastic grid that comes with your embroidery hoops. You are required to purchase the Feels Like Spring embroidery designs/pattern from Quilt Mercantile.This retreat does not pertain to brand specific “how do I use my software” classes.

Thursday afternoon (start at 2pm) -- Part One will be the simple two part multi-hooping to make the Daffodil block along with learning the principles to machine embroidery applique
Friday morning (start at 9:30am) -- Part Two will teach Linear multi-hooping which will be a technique of re-hooping the background fabric along a straight line to make large designs
Friday afternoon (start at 2pm) -- Part Three will teach Triangle multi-hooping which will be a technique where you will learn to hoop a triangle shape cut of fabric and embroidery your design using two stages of hooping
Saturday morning (start at 9:30am) -- Part Four will teach the Diagnoal multi-hooping technique which consists of making large machine embroidery applique blocks with easy diagonal hooping in five stages of hooping
Saturday afternoon (start at 2pm) -- Part Five will teach the Square multi-hooping is a technique where you learn how to vertically and horizontally hoop to make large blocks on the background square
Sunday morning (start at 9am) -- Part Six will teach the Six-sided multi-hooping technique that demonstrates how to re-hoop on a 60 degree angle
supplies needed for the multi-hooping techniques being taught --
embroidery machine serviced and ready to work along with owner's manual, embroidery foot, and power cord
your 5x7 hoop with the plastic grid OR your 6x10 hoop with the plastic grid (if in doubt as to what hoop you can use then bring them all)
at least 25 pieces of medium weight cut-away stabilizer that fits your 5x7 hoop or your 6x10 hoop (would suggest you bring your roll of cut-away stabilizer)

blue water soluble marking pen
chalk pencil
rotary cutter
6 x 24 rotary ruler
embroidery threads
white bobbins
embroidery tool kit that must include scissors that will aid in trimming applique fabrics
