Free Motion Quilting for Domestic Machines at Quilt Mercantile




Would you like to learn how to free motion quilt using your domestic sewing machine or a sit down machine?  You will learn on a pre printed panel and with my guidance you will learn how to adjust the quilt to create many beautiful designs. This class is for the beginner to intermediate quilter who wants to learn the basics or to expand on quilting skills. You will learn the how to handle and move the quilt while stitching in the ditch. I will share different design techniques to get you started. Keeping the design smooth and making even stitches can sometimes be a difficult task but with practice and my guidance you will feel much better about your quilting.

Supplies Needed:

Your machine – domestic machine or sit down machine                                                                Sewing machine manual for threading and tension issues                                                  
Hopping foot for your home sewing machine. 
Skill builders panel #1 or #2 (36 " x 45" in size) pre-order from Quilt Mercantile.  Batting and Backing fabric - 1 inch larger all the way around top panel. 
One water soluble pen. 
Quilting Thread 30 or 40 weight (use a good quality thread) 
Quilting needles, Scissors. 
Notebook and pen to take notes
