Have you ever wanted to learn how to use rulers to stitch stunning designs on a quilt? We created a 4 day retreat that will help you accomplish your quilting dreams. We used a 44 inch by 46 inch panel by Hoffman that is called "Supernova." It gradiates from the center. We have some of the same blue panel. We have a turquoise green and a orange/yellow panel.
Rulers come in various shapes and sizes. The design combinations are infinite. But sometimes it can be intimidating to get started! Where do I start? What designs work well together? How do I make it all flow? Where does the background fill go?

4 days. 6 different rulers. 1 whole cloth design!
We will start together by centering and marking the top with registrations points to ensure that the design remains centered.
Our first design will utilize the hexie ruler. Next we will learn how to stitch out perfect hearts and diamonds. Double waves will be fun to create with our wave ruler. And we will use the match stick for straight lines. Last but not least, we will add some flare with my personal favorite the curve ruler!
I will guide you through lots of practice to perfect curved crosshatching, straight crosshatching, pebbles, piano keys and stippling. These background fills will finish off the quilt and make the design pop.
All of the techniques learned in the class can be applied to future quilts! You will gain confidence through guided practice!

This is for domestic sewing machines or long arm sit-down units. Rulers are the foundation for many custom quilting projects. For groups over ten, Jackie will teach at the listed price. For groups under ten, she will give an option of increasing the fee before rescheduling the retreat.
