ZENTANGLE® & Quilting
Zentangle art is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful works by simply drawing patterns within a space. You don’t have to be an artist to create Zentangle art. The complicated patterns are broken down into easy to follow steps. Traditional Zentangle art is done in black and white, but color can be added for a whole different look. Zentangles can increase your focus and creativity.
Students will learn the basic theory behind Zentangles, the benefits and uses and then we will spend a day learning many tangle designs as you each create wonderful small pieces of art. Students will get the opportunity to work on paper and fabric.
Students will also learn how to create a unique Zentangle Inspired Art piece using black and white print fabrics. Students can choose to work on my Butterfly Beauty pattern or create their own one of a kind design with my easy step by step instructions.
I will have lots of my own Zentangle art to share with you throughout class
Kit fee: $8.00 includes a pen, Zentangle tiles and papers.
Students will need to bring:
Basic sewing supplies, scissors, sewing machine with open toe foot and zig zag stitch, thread to match you applique fabrics, rotary cutter, mat and ruler, freezer paper , 3 yards of fusible web and extra wide black Sharpie permanent marker.
Yardage Requirements:
Solid black ¾ yard
Solid white ¾ yard
Black & white prints scraps, Fat eighths or FQ (15 to 20 different prints)
